Book Boosters, Inc. provides support for free workshops, lectures, lunches and dinners for attendees enrolled in the diabetes training studies for the University of Texas. Book Boosters, Inc. has also supported the local presentation of healthy lunches and lectures at the Blackland and St. John’s Community Centers, the George Washington Carver Museum, and area churches. Nutritious and delicious appetizers, snacks, and meals for community events were provided to attendees so they could sample heritage recipes and comfort foods prepared in a healthy way and to give them information about diet-related illnesses.
